Option 1: Wrap TextĮnabling the “Wrap text” option will cause any text that is too long to fit within the cell to automatically wrap to the next line. Here, you will see a number of options for adjusting the alignment of your cell contents. In the Format Cells dialog box, navigate to the “Alignment” tab and look for the section labeled “Text control”. Step 3: Adjust the Cell Alignment Settings Alternatively, you can also access the Format Cells dialog box by clicking on the “Format” button in the “Home” tab of the Excel ribbon and selecting “Format Cells” from the drop-down menu. With your cells selected, right-click on one of the cells and choose “Format Cells” from the context menu that appears. You can select multiple cells at once by clicking and dragging your mouse over them or by clicking on the first cell and holding down the shift key while clicking on the last cell you want to select. The first step in making Excel cells fit text is to select the cell or cells that contain the text you want to adjust.
